UNIUYO Hands Over Lecture Hall Building Site And Design To Dr. Glory Edet
Inspired by her diligence, hardwork and commitment to churning out the ideologies of Governor Udom Emmanuel into concrete realities, the Management of University of Uyo over the weekend, handed over a site for the building of a modern lecture facility and its design to the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet.
The colourful event which took place at the permanent site of the University, Nsukara Offot, had in attendance the Vice Chancellor, Professor NyaUdo Ndaeyo, DVCs Administration and Academic, Professors Enoidem Usoro and Anthony Udo, Registrar, Mr. AniediAbasi Udofia, Librarian, Professor Ahioma Ibegwam, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Professor Godwin Udom, Head of Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, Dr. Beulah Ekerete, Dr. Uduak Udoinyang a former Commissioner for Agriculture, Architect Sunday Bassey, other HODs of the various Departments in the faculty of Agriculture as well as Mr. Ekerette Adiaiduo, a former SUG President University of Uyo.

As approved by the directorate of physical planning, the one-storey building edifice has a 300-seater lecture mini-theatre (150 on the ground floor and another 150 on the first floor). It will be equipped with other ancillary features to meet contemporary learning as obtained in other climes. The design also has multiple emergency exits and safety warehouse.
Prior to her appointment as Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Edet was a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, Faculty of Agriculture and had also served as Staff Adviser in her Department for about 7 years. It is also on record that as an Alumnus and best graduating student in her Department during her set, Dr. Edet had notified the University management of her determination to improve students’ learning environment and support the institution by providing a conducive learning environment for students.
“Already my friends and partners have indicated interest to support me in making sure this project is completed very soon”. She added.
